The Morrison Government has introduced to Parliament the most comprehensive set of reforms to the Aboriginal Land Rights (Northern Territory) Act 1976 since its enactment, with the Economic Empowerment Bill.

The Morrison Government has introduced a bill into the House of Representatives to amend the Corporations (Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander) Act 2006 to make it easier for Indigenous organisations to do business, increase transparency for members and strengthen governance.

Bamaga Enterprises Ltd (BEL) has secured $100,000 in Federal Government funding from the Indigenous Tourism Fund, which it will use to provide new tours from its accommodation business, Cape York Peninsula Lodge.

A total of 14 new Indigenous-led research projects worth $2.6 million will be funded under the Australian Institute of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Studies’ (AIATSIS) Indigenous Research Exchange grants program.
