In partnership with state and territory governments and Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander health leaders, the Morrison Government has released a national policy framework to improve health and wellbeing outcomes for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people over the next 10 years.

Applications are now open for the latest grant round of the Morrison Government’s Indigenous Contemporary Music Program, aimed at increasing development opportunities for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander musicians and bands.

The Joint Council on Closing the Gap has given its in principle agreement to the first two Sector Strengthening Plans, to improve the early childhood care and development sector and the health sector as part of the National Agreement on Closing the Gap.

Six members have been appointed to the renewed Northern Australia Indigenous Reference Group (IRG) and will provide the Australian Government practical and actionable advice on unlocking economic opportunities for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people across the north.

Funding has been extended for a Mareeba-based program helping Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander children to get the best possible start in life and to be ready to start school.
