The Remote Australia Employment Service has replaced the CDP
The Remote Australia Employment Service (RAES) started on 1 November 2025, replacing the Community Development Program in RAES regions.
The RAES will provide job seekers in remote communities within RAES regions with a culturally safe, flexible employment service that supports them to upskill, find pathways to work and contribute to their community.
The design and implementation of RAES has been informed by consultation with remote community members, job seekers, peak bodies, First Nations peoples, CDP providers and other key stakeholders, as well as lessons learned through a series of remote employment trials.
The service will:
- support job seekers to prepare for work, transition into employment when opportunities arise, and remain employed through improved access to mentoring and tailored support
- provide job seekers opportunities to get involved in community projects that build their skills and help them become job ready. These projects give communities more flexibility to design solutions locally, tailored for individual needs
- give job seekers the opportunity to meet with their provider no matter whether they live in town or further out (e.g. homelands or outstations).
There are 49 individual providers (excluding joint venture partners and subcontractors) funded to provide remote employment services across 60 RAES Regions. Find out the provider in your local area.
Job seekers will be contacted by their provider to set up a time to meet and work through their individual goals.
