Blak Markets Christmas Festival
The Blak Markets Christmas Festival on Bare Island on Sunday 15 December is the largest market held on Bare Island with 23 Aboriginal stallholders selling their arts and crafts with everything from native plants to award winning jewelry to silk scarves featuring Aboriginal design.
As always there's a wonderful Festival line up of both contemporary and cultural performances - this market featuring cultural dance performances by by Milan Dhiiyaan Dancers, free interactive session for the kids with Larry Brandy Storytellers and art workshops creating message sticks with Aboriginal symbols.
The Blak Markets are a great chance to buy authentic unique gifts knowing that 100% of the profits go back into Aboriginal communities and this market we also have some great new bushfood drink products to sell such as Boab Nut Iced Tea and non-alchoholic draft beers infused with native plant flavours from Aboriginal businesses in the bushfood industry.
The Blak Markets takes place at Bare Island within the Kamay-Botany Bay National Park with the support of the NSW Parks and Wildlife Service and Randwick City Council.
