Registrations are open for Healing Our Spirit Worldwide – The Eighth Gathering

9 Oct 2018
First Nations people around the world will share their stories, solutions and learnings to promote healing. By highlighting successful healing opportunities for challenges like Intergenerational Trauma, participants will learn from each other and create a different future For Our Grandchildren’s Grandchildren – the overarching theme of this year’s Gathering.
With more than 100 speakers, presenters and workshop facilitators from all over the globe – including June Oscar AO, Linda Burney MP, Professor Helen Milroy, Vinton Hawley, Sheri Daniels and Joe Williams – topics will cover five sub themes:
  • Healing/Health
  • Lore/Law/Justice
  • Land/Language
  • Learning/Education/Employment
  • Our Future
The event will feature a Gathering Place where participants can meet between sessions, share stories, strengthen ideas and build international healing relationships. This area will also include marketplace and exhibition booths to celebrate First Nation cultures.
The program of cultural performances and activities from around the globe will start with a parade of nations, and end with a gala concert, including world-class performers like the Yothu Yindi Band, Rocky Dawuni and Stevie Salas.
