Congratulations to the Indigenous winners of the 2019 ABC Heywire Competition
The ABC Heywire Competition has announced its winners for 2019. We congratulate all 36 of them, and in particular, the 5 Indigenous youth.
Heywire puts young Australians at the centre of the conversations that shape their communities. It gives a voice to remote, rural and regional youth aged 16-22 by encouraging them to tell stories about their life in text, photo, video or audio format.
Over the past 17 years more than 9,000 young Australians have taken part.

At the summit, they will work together in groups to develop ideas designed to make a positive change in their communities. They will then present those ideas before a large audience and in front of judges who can advise how to put their ideas into action.
