Shared Responsibility Agreement
The Mungullah community want to manage their own future and revitalise the community. They want to improve living conditions, promote healthy activities, have access to training programs and have better employment opportunities.
As a first step the community have signed an SRA that will provide much needed infrastructure for the community including a Community Hall and sporting oval.
As part of their SRA the community will provide labour to help with the construction and works for the Community Hall and oval (through the local CDEP). The community will also enforce a ‘no school, no play’ policy for activities at the oval and hall (such as sporting activities and blue light discos) and conduct monthly events to promote healthier lifestyles (such as drug and alcohol free days).
The community will support training programs and social events to be run from the new facilities such as after-school programs, young men’s and women’s groups, open air films, sporting programs and competitions, and leadership and governance programs.
The Australian Government will fund planning and construction of the oval and Community Hall and provide ongoing funds for managing the hall.
Families will take part in community activities and training and will also support their kids to take part in cultural, sport and recreational activities.
