Shared Responsibility Agreement

The Indigenous community in Eidsvold have identified employment opportunities for young people as their priority.

This SRA will help provide these opportunities through the setting up of a community enterprise in embroidery and screen printing. This business will help build community identity, capacity and collaboration. It will also develop young people’s skills in computing and business, and give them a way to be productive within the community.

The community is providing a facility to use as a working and retail space. It will establish an entity to run the business, develop a business plan and a marketing plan, and use community networks to establish markets. Community leaders will mentor the young people. Young people will attend training and work in the business.

The Australian Government is providing funding to set up the business, to employ a trainer/coordinator for 12 months, and to develop the business plan. It will also provide wages for five trainees.
