Shared Responsibility Agreement
The Woorabinda community want a successful and innovative community. As a first step the community has signed an SRA where they will work together to develop a vision for their community focused on increasing participation in community and school events.
As part of their SRA, the community will run a range of sport and recreation activities for residents. Community members will also take part in community planning (by developing a five-year plan) and establish a management group to monitor and implement the plan.
The Australian Government will provide funds for the sport and recreation activities that include renovating the local the pool and oval, purchasing Go Karts, and funding for a pool manager and a women’s sports officer.
The community will implement a ‘no school, no pool’ policy to improve school attendance. The community will also help to renovate the facilities and maintain them.
