Shared Responsibility Agreement

For 13 years the community at Manyallaluk have successfully operated an award-winning cultural tourism enterprise, with little business support.

Their SRA will put the business on a more sustainable basis through the development of a business plan and the delivery of financial management training. The community wants more people off CDEP and into full-time jobs in the business.

The Australian Government is backing the community’s tourism product with funding for the business plan and infrastructure upgrades (kitchen, IT, power and coolroom), and it will help with training.

The community will provide CDEP positions, develop a whole-of-community approach to the business, and run it according to the business plan. Tour guides have committed to regular attendance at work and training, and have committed to develop and comply with Personal Action Plans in conjunction with the CDEP provider.

Individuals in the community have committed to working in the business and to undertake training to increase their skills and knowledge.
