Shared Responsibility Agreement

The Dhurputjpi community living on the Laynhapuy Homelands want better food, improved education for their children, and more art and craft production.

Their SRA will help develop a community garden, set up a School of the Air service, and build a work area for arts and crafts.

An existing structure will be renovated with funding from the Australian Government to provide a combined facility for the School of the Air and art and craft production. The Government is also purchasing a tractor, hand tools and other equipment.

CDEP workers will fence, establish and maintain the garden, and community members will work in the garden and eat its products. Community members will do training in horticulture and small-engine maintenance.

Families will ensure their children attend school and three women currently doing teacher training will assist with the School of the Air classes.
