Shared Responsibility Agreement
The people of Areyonga want to make their community stronger and provide more opportunities for their kids. Their SRA will improve transport to services in the regional centre and develop a safe area for kids to play sport.
The Australian Government is buying a bus to help community members get to services in Alice Springs such as health clinics, sporting events, and art and craft markets. Funding is also being provided to develop an oval close to the community.
Community members will encourage kids to eat healthy foods and go to school. They will also help clean up the community and surroundings, provide the labour to develop the oval, and organise and participate in sporting activities.
The community council will develop a set of rules for use of the bus, and operating costs will be met through a user-pays system.
