Shared Responsibility Agreement
The Mungkarta community want to preserve and pass on knowledge about their history and culture.
The community has signed an SRA that will build a meeting place and help to record their language, history and art.
The community will provide the labour to build the meeting place and use the facility for meetings, church services and cultural activities. The community will also record cultural and historical information.
The Australian Government will fund the building of the meeting place and purchase materials to enable the community to publish and distribute books and produce art work.
The local school will help with printing and binding books and incorporate local art into its curriculum.
