Shared Responsibility Agreement
The La Perouse community want to improve management of housing and raise awareness of the cultural significance of La Perouse mission.
An existing Community Development Facilitator has already helped the community to address housing issues. The Australian Government will support the work of the facilitator for another year so further progress can be made.
The community will form a residents’ group to work with the facilitator and the local housing organisation to help resolve tenancy issues. The New South Wales Government will provide administrative support for the group and the local housing organisation will provide office space and equipment.
Community members will support the work of the tenancy group, and agree to pay rent and enter into a tenancy agreement.
The community will coordinate the history project and inform all community members, who will be asked to tell their personal and family stories about life at the mission.
