Shared Responsibility Agreement

The Baryulgil and Malabugilmah communities want their kids to be healthy and to get the most out of school.

This SRA will help build a market garden at the Baryulgil Public School.

Community members including CDEP workers will establish and maintain the garden, and organise deliveries of fresh fruit and vegetables to the school. Community members will also take part in nutrition, budgeting and other education programs in partnership with Baryulgil School and Bulgarr Ngaru Aboriginal Medical Service.

The CDEP will manage the garden. Bulgarr Ngaru Aboriginal Medical Service will do health checks on children and families. The local school is providing the land and will also teach students about health.

The Australian Government will provide funds for seedlings, tools and other materials for the market garden, and will fund fruit and vegetable packages while the market garden is being established.
