What kind of future did you imagine for yourself when you were young?

I played a lot of sport when I was young, so I imagined becoming a sportsperson. It was also my goal to finish high school, then see what interested me outside of school and try to pursue that.

What kind of future do you imagine for yourself now?

I have a young daughter, so my future involves trying to do the best I can for her. I have just bought a house, so I’m paying off the mortgage and working hard to make a nice life.

Who is your role model and why?

I don’t really have one particular role model, I am inspired by the many wonderful people I have met through my work and travels – from other dancers, to young kids, Aboriginal elders and comedians.

What do you think makes a strong future?

Education is the key. You can’t step into your future without having knowledge. Also having a good support network is very important.
