A new free tourist map of Western Australia featuring Aboriginal owned and run tourist ventures has been produced by the Western Australian Indigenous Tourism Operators Council (WAITOC), the peak not for profit organisation representing Indigenous tourism in WA.
Qualifying for AccorHotel’s 2017 Hotel Management Traineeship program requires hard work and commitment. Wiradjuri woman Amyee McLaren has those qualities in abundance and is supported by EPI partners, AccorHotels Pacific.
Latia Schefe is the 2017 National NAIDOC Awards Youth of the Year. Latia was diagnosed with cancer at age six. She underwent multiple operations and chemotherapy but still lost a kidney. However, Latia studied at her hospital and graduated from school with awards recognising her leadership abilities.
Over 120 athletes from 18 communities and cities around Australia attended the sixth running of the National Deadly Fun Run. Organised by the Indigenous Marathon Foundation, the National Deadly Fun Run is designed to promote healthy living and increase participation in running in remote Indigenous communities.
