Tandanya 2016 NAIDOC Celebration: Seven Sisters Songline
In line with NAIDOC’s theme of ‘the living narrative of our Nation’, Tandanya’s celebration is an exhibition bringing together works from artists on the Anangu Pitjantjatjara Yankunytjatjara lands, Ngaanyatjarra lands, and the Western Desert region to demonstrate the storyline of Kungarangkalpa (Seven Sisters Dreaming), its reach and ongoing importance to people across the country.
Taking a multi-media approach, the narrative of "Songlines" will be illuminated by story boards, communicated through a video dance performance of the Dreaming, and told through cultural workshops and performances, as the exhibition ‘sings’ the living cultural routes of trade, story, dance, visual art, and music that map our country.
The program promises to be engaging for local and visiting communities, not only enjoyable, but educational too.
Please join us at Tandanya as we showcase the ongoing vibrancy of cultural storytelling through the arts.
Opening Hours: Monday to Saturday, 9.30am to 4.30pm
Closed: Sundays and Public Holidays
