Minister Scullion: Growth for Yunaga

- Singleton earth moving business, Yunaga, successful in receiving $1.82 million Coalition Government investment to expand and grow their operations.
- Coalition Government is backing Yunaga to promote and encourage Indigenous entrepreneurship.

Local Singleton earth moving business, Yunaga, will now be able to expand commercial operations and tender for bigger and more valuable projects thanks to a $1.82 million Coalition Government investment for the purchase of new plant equipment.
Minister for Indigenous Affairs, Nigel Scullion said the funding will allow Yunaga to expand their earth moving business by purchasing two new trucks, an excavator and a GPS. Without having to rely on rental equipment Yunaga will be able to build their business and create more job opportunities for the local community.
“Yunaga is a highly respected Aboriginal owned business in the Singleton community, providing a range of civil and earth moving services to the local region and will employ over 15 staff members,” Minister Scullion said.
Nationals Senator for New South Wales, John Williams, said the funds have been allocated as part of the Indigenous Advancement Strategy, providing sustainable employment opportunities for regional communities whilst increasing local capacity and skills.
“Yunaga is a great example of what an Indigenous business can achieve. Operating for over a decade, the company has been incredibly successful in winning contracts for a wide range of projects from fencing installation to providing consultancy services in relation to the Native Title Act.
“I congratulate owners Victor and Laurie Perry for their excellent work providing jobs and opportunities for their local community,” Senator Williams said today.
