Trial Site Profile
Geography
Located 150km inland and 571 metres above the Pacific Ocean, at approximately latitude 35 degrees south, longitude 149 degrees east, Canberra is Australia's largest inland city. It was built on the banks of the Molonglo River, now dammed to form Lake Burley Griffin, named after the city's architect, Walter Burley Griffin.

Population
The 2001 ABS Census shows the total Indigenous population of 3,576, with 1,781 males and 1,795 females. This represents 0.87% of the Australian Indigenous population (410,003).
